The International Baccalaureate Career-related Programme is a part of the International Baccalaureate programme of education and is specifically developed for students between the ages of 16 and 19 who wish to engage in career-related learning.
- It is a specialized approach within IB Educational framework and philosophy.
- IBCP is customized to suit students’ personal interest and strength.
- It is a flexible programme that allows students to have a voice in their learning.
Curriculum Framework for IBCP
The IBCP framework model consists of three elements:
Diploma Programme (DP) Subjects
Students must complete at least two Diploma Programme (DP) subjects at Higher Level (HL) or Standard Level (SL).
Career-related studies (CRS)
Business Administration
At Podar, we offer Business Administration as our Career-related studies with our service provider WACP. The WACP qualification in Business Administration includes both the International Diploma and the International Advanced Diploma, spread over two years. The program covers key areas like management, marketing, accounting, finance, and human resources.

Personal and Professional Skills
Designed to develop a range of skills that can be applied in a variety of contexts to support students’ personal and professional growth both now and in the future.
Language and Cultural Studies
Helps students explore and appreciate the richness of language and the diverse cultures that shape our world.
Community Engagement
Encourages students to connect with real-world communities in meaningful ways. It allows students to explore relevant issues, reflect on their role in society, and take thoughtful action to address challenges or opportunities.
Reflective Project
An in-depth body of work focused on an ethical dilemma in a career-related area. Students can develop their RP using written, verbal, visual, and audio-visual modes of communication.

Career-related study
Business Administration
- Formative Assessments: 40% of the total grade
- Summative Assessments: 60% of the total grade
CP Core
Internal & External
- No external examinations or point-based grades for PPS, LCS, and Community Engagement (Assessed on engagement/reflection).
- The Reflective Project will be awarded a grade ranging from A to E by the IBO.
DP Subjects
Standard IB Grading
- DP subjects will be graded out of a maximum of 7 points.
To achieve a CP certificate, a candidate must meet all of the following requirements:
- The school has confirmed that the candidate has completed the specified career-related study.
- The candidate has been awarded a grade 3 or more in at least two of the DP courses.
- The candidate has been awarded at least a D grade for the reflective project.
- The school has confirmed that all personal and professional skills, community engagement, and language and cultural studies requirements have been met.
- The candidate has not received a penalty for academic misconduct from the Final Award Committee.

The Association of Indian Universities (AIU) recognizes the IBCP as equivalent to the +2 level qualification of Indian school boards (i.e., Grade 12). This means that IBCP graduates are eligible to apply to Indian universities for undergraduate programs, just like students who complete other recognized Grade 12 qualifications such as CBSE, ISC, or state boards.
IBCP students can:
- Apply to AIU-affiliated universities across India.
- Pursue undergraduate degrees in a range of disciplines, depending on the subjects they have studied.
- Qualify for national-level competitive exams where a recognized Grade 12 certification is required.

Globally, the IBCP is widely recognized by leading universities and colleges across the UK, US, Europe, Australia, and other regions.
Many institutions value the programme’s balanced approach that combines academic depth with career-oriented study, along with its emphasis on international-mindedness, reflective thinking, and community engagement.
